Problems
CoyoteVest, a brand committed to protecting pets with innovative spike vests and collars, had a product line that was already resonating with concerned pet owners—but their Amazon PPC performance was lagging behind their potential. Despite a loyal customer base and solid product reviews, their paid campaigns weren’t scaling effectively, their visibility was limited, and they were missing out on major sales opportunities. The internal team had limited time and bandwidth to dive deep into PPC optimization, and lacked the strategic framework to scale profitably. The problem wasn’t a lack of demand—it was inefficiency in capturing it. Their account lacked structured campaign segmentation, efficient bid strategies, and conversion-optimized targeting. There was also no clear month-over-month reporting structure in place to evaluate and iterate performance. The brand had no clarity on which campaigns were truly driving performance versus draining ad budget. More critically, there was no focused effort to push CoyoteVest into higher keyword ranks organically through PPC synergy. Their existing campaigns were outdated, flat, and failing to evolve with changing search trends. At a time when their competitors were aggressively investing in digital ad strategy, CoyoteVest was at risk of losing relevance without strong PPC support and expert-level campaign restructuring.
Challenges
Optimizing PPC for CoyoteVest came with a unique blend of strategic and operational hurdles. First, the pet protection category is highly niche and emotionally driven—meaning ad creatives, keywords, and listings must align with both urgency and sentiment. Our first challenge was that the account had a mix of legacy campaigns that were eating up spend but producing diminishing returns. There was a lack of granularity in targeting—broad match keywords were draining budgets without driving relevant conversions. Secondly, the brand didn’t have an organized campaign hierarchy or funnel-based strategy, making it difficult to identify which ad groups were truly scaling versus stagnating. We also had to overcome the fact that seasonal spikes in pet-related concerns (such as coyote activity in spring) required anticipatory bidding and proactive keyword targeting. Another challenge was data interpretation. The team at CoyoteVest needed a simple, digestible way to measure performance improvements—but with limited knowledge of key PPC KPIs like ACOS, ROAS, and CTR, our approach had to balance reporting clarity with deep optimization. Additionally, with no new product launches during this time, the success had to come solely from improving the performance of existing ASINs through smarter ad spend, keyword refinement, and bid control. We had to rebuild from within.
Solution & Results
Our team initiated a full PPC diagnostic on CoyoteVest’s Amazon ad account, then quickly restructured campaigns based on intent, product type, and performance tier. We eliminated underperforming ad groups, consolidated high-ROAS performers, and set up fresh campaigns using keyword isolation strategies across match types (broad, phrase, and exact) to control spend and maximize targeting precision. We implemented a funnel-based structure: top-of-funnel campaigns were built for discovery, while bottom-of-funnel ones were dialed in for retargeting and conversions.

Simultaneously, we synced keyword targeting with listing SEO to create an organic lift through PPC traction. We also aligned the ad strategy with Amazon’s dynamic bidding tools and dayparting analysis to capitalize on peak traffic hours. Over a 90-day period (Dec 2024 to Feb 2025), total PPC sales climbed from $175K (Dec–Feb 2024) to $303K in 2025, a staggering $128K increase—as shown in the attached Rank Radar and Amazon Ads dashboard. That’s a 73% growth in PPC revenue, driven purely by optimization, without inflating spend irresponsibly. Impressions rose sharply, while cost per click remained efficient, indicating better quality traffic. Additionally, new campaign setups began generating $10K/month in new PPC revenue, with monthly totals now consistently surpassing $100K+. CoyoteVest’s PPC engine is now running at its strongest, driving visibility, conversions, and long-term keyword rank stability.
